The Seahawks have signed OL Frank Omiyale, who was released earlier in the offseason by the Bears. Terms and conditions of the deal were not announced.
Since he was released before free agency began, Omiyale was able to visit Seattle on March 5. He signs there after playing the last three seasons in Chicago. He started 31 games with the Bears, playing left tackle, left guard and right tackle. He had some trouble with penalties, however, as Omiyale was called for 19 false starts during his time with the Bears. He also allowed 20½ sacks during his three seasons in Chicago, according to STATS LLC.
The Seahawks released OG Robert Gallery earlier in the offseason, so Omiyale may have an opportunity to see some playing time there.
