The Patriots continue to add players via free agency, signing former Dolphins free-agent CB Will Allen on Wednesday. The terms of the contract weren't disclosed.

Allen, 33, has 11 NFL seasons under his belt, although he sat out 10 games in 2009 and the entire 2010 season with a knee injury. Last season he played in 15 games in Miami, starting six, and he recorded 43 tackles and three passes defensed.

Allen is the third free agent the Patriots have added to a secondary that proved vulnerable last season. Earlier the team had signed former Chargers S Steve Gregory and ex-Jets CB Marquice Cole.

The Patriots also officially announced the signing of former Seahawks OG Robert Gallery, a move that PFW reported Monday.
