The Lions have re-signed LB Stephen Tulloch to a five-year deal, keeping one of the team's top defenders in place. Financial terms were not announced.
Tulloch led Detroit in tackles in 2011, recording 111 stops to go along with three sacks, two interceptions and three fumbles recovered. The team now has 21 of 22 starters returning from last season's playoff team, with only CB Eric Wright (who signed with the Buccaneers) not coming back.
"I want to thank all of the Detroit Lion fans for sticking with me through this process," Tulloch tweeted on Tuesday. "This is a special team and I'm glad to be a part of it."
PFW's 48th-ranked free agent started all 16 games for the Lions in 2011, his first with the team. He spent the first five years of his career with the Titans.
