Veteran CB Shawntae Spencer won't have to relocate far after being released by the 49ers last week, as he has reached a deal to play across the Bay with the Raiders, mutliple media outlets reported Monday. Terms of the agreement were not announced.

Spencer played eight seasons in San Francisco, recording 345 tackles and 11 interceptions. His role was greatly reduced last season, as he played in nine games and recorded just five tackles.

It is expected Spencer could have a chance to start for Oakland in 2012. The team released two of their top corners — Stanford Routt and Chris Johnson — prior to free agency beginning, and Spencer joins Ron Bartell as additions to the secondary in the past week.

The Raiders also re-signed OG Cooper Carlisle, who they released last week in an effort to shed salary.
