QB McCown re-signs with Bears
Josh McCown came to the Bears late last season as they desperately searched for anyone to play quarterback and not lose the game. In three games as a Bear he completed 35-of-55 passes for 414 yards, two TDs and four interceptions. The team may state he'll compete with Jason Campbell for the backup job, but he's likely the No. 3 or won't make it out of camp. He has no fantasy value.
FB Robinson re-signs with Seahawks
Michael Robinson, a one-time quarterback and running back and now a fullback, made his first Pro Bowl in his sixth season. Gaining 15 pounds last season, he converted to FB and helped make Marshawn Lynch a fantasy stud. He totaled 13 utilizations for 81 yards from scrimmage with one TD and was used sparingly as an offensive threat. He does contribute on special teams but has no fantasy value.
FB Vickers signs with Cowboys
Lawrence Vickers helped send Arian Foster to the Pro Bowl as the Texans' blocking fullback but was not re-signed. He only went 5-29-0 rushing/receiving and will now block for DeMarco Murray and Felix Jones in Dallas and has no fantasy value.
WR Slater re-signs with Patriots
Matthew Slater is a special-teams player but has contributed in various ways: wide receiver, kickoff-return specialist and even playing defense as a safety. He made the Pro Bowl as a special-teams player. In four seasons with the Patriots, he only has 1-46-0 receiving in that time and has no fantasy value.
TE Smith re-signs with Browns
Alex Smith re-signed with the Browns on a one-year contract. When first drafted, Smith was seen as a potential pass-catching tight end but never developed. He remains in the league as a solid blocking tight end but ended the season on injured reserve with a shoulder injury after totaling 14-131-1 in 14 games. He is No. 3 on the depth chart, behind Ben Watson and Evan Moore, and has no fantasy value.
TE Sperry re-signs with Chargers
Kory Sperry re-signed with the Chargers on a one-year deal, and last season he was seen as someone who could help the position as a vertical threat. Starting TE Antonio Gates has lost a step with foot and toe injuries, but at season's end Sperry totaled 1-32-0 and may not even make the roster this year. He has no fantasy value.
