The Chiefs continue to beef up their offense, signing free agents OT Eric Winston and QB Brady Quinn on Saturday.

Winston, who was released by Houston on Monday, was ranked 32nd on PFW's list of the top free agents this offseason. At age 28, he has started 87 career games and hasn't missed a start since his rookie season of 2006.

Having lost Kyle Orton in free agency, the Chiefs signed Quinn to back up starter Matt Cassel. Quinn began his career in Cleveland, where he started 12 games in three seasons, and played the past two seasons in Denver, where he was behind first Orton and then Tim Tebow.

Winston's contract was for four years and $22 million, according to Pro Football Talk, which cited a league source. but no information on the terms of Quinn's contract was immediately available.

Earlier in free agency, the Chiefs had addressed their offense with the signings of RB Peyton Hillis and TE Kevin Boss. Defensively, they've added CBs Stanford Routt and Jacques Reeves.

The way we see it

Winston is expected to replace Barry Richardson at right tackle next season, providing a big upgrade and filling one of the team's bigger needs. Richardson, who started 31 games at right tackle over the past two seasons, is an unrestricted free agent and is unlikely to return. Meanwhile, Quinn is likely to beat out Ricky Stanzi for the backup job to Matt Cassel.
