The Texans have come to terms with one of their own, free-agent C Chris Myers, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Friday.

Although the team hadn't announced the move, Myers confirmed the news on Twitter:

"Let me first say thank you to all of the dedicated #Texansfans out there. I am extremely happy to stay here in Houston and be a Texan! Can't wai to get back down to work and build on last seasons success! Thank you all again!!! #TexansNation"

According to Schefter, Myers will sign a four-year contract worth $25 million, with $14 million guaranteed.

Myers has started every game in four seasons with the Texans, including two playoff games last season. PFW ranked him 40th on its list of the top 100 free agents this offseason.

The way we see it

The Texans' second-ranking rushing offense had taken a hit this offseason with the loss of starting ORG Mike Brisiel to Oakland on Friday and the release of starting ORT Eric Winston on Tuesday. The team reportedly believes Rashad Butler can replace Winston at right tackle, but the loss of Myers would have further compromised the continuity of an O-line that blocked well for RB Arian Foster.
