CB Cedric Griffin signed with the Redskins on Friday, ESPN's Josina Anderson reported. The one-year deal is worth a maximum of $2.5 million.

Griffin has spent all six of his NFL seasons with the Vikings. In 2011, he played in all 16 games with 14 starts, recording 67 tackles, nine passes defensed, one interception and three forced fumbles.

In his career, Griffin has eight picks and 14 forced fumbles. Redskins CB Phillip Buchanan and S LaRon Landry are both free agents.
