The Dolphins announced Friday that they signed OL Artis Hicks and re-signed exclusive-rights free agent TE Jeron Mastrud.
Terms of the deals were not disclosed.
A 10-year veteran, Hicks spent last season with the Browns. He played in nine games and made three starts for Cleveland. He's also spent time with the Redskins, Vikings and Eagles during his career, playing in 118 games and starting 71 times.
"I am looking forward to meeting the new coaching staff and my O-line coach," Hicks said on his agency's website. "I would like to contribute in any way that I can to be a part of a winning organization."
Mastrud, 24, is entering his third season after appearing in 22 games and making five starts over the past two seasons with the Dolphins.
The way we see it
Hicks is not the offensive tackle news Dolphins fans are waiting on — the team hosted Eric Winston for a visit earlier in the week, but the veteran Hicks adds depth at a position of need. Marc Colombo and Vernon Carey, who played guard last season, are both free agents.
