The Colts continued raiding new head coach Chuck Pagano's old defensive unit, signing former Ravens S Tom Zbikowkski to a contract. The terms of the deal, which was first reported by the Chicago Tribune's Dan Pompei, are unknown.
Zbikowski is the second former Raven to sign with the Colts, joining DE Cory Redding. He spent the first four seasons of his career in Baltimore as a reserve safety and special-teams standout.
The way we see it
The Colts are thin at safety following the release last week of Melvin Bullitt. Zbikowski, a hard-hitting, throwback-style player, will fit well in Pagano's new defense and could challenge for a starting job. His special-teams prowess also will provide a lift for the Colts, one of the worst special-teams units in the league for the past several years.
