Kellen Davis re-signed with the Bears for two years, $6 million and is looking for the opportunity to be more involved as a pass-catching tight end. New offensive coordinator Mike Tice, a former tight end is going to a more traditional offense instead of Mike Martz's pass-happy spread offense. In fact, the change to a more traditional offense did start with Martz last year as he had to protect QB Jay Cutler who was taking a pounding with minimal protection.

Serving mostly as a blocker last season, Davis totaled 18-206-5 on 35 targets and averaged a TD every 3.6 catches or every seven targets. At 6-7, 262 pounds, he's a load and his size helps him fight off defenders for the ball. He's a natural athlete with leaping ability and has proven to be durable, not suffering an injury in four years and playing all 16 games each season. However, he didn't start until this past season.

The past three seasons, he has posted 28-300-9 on 51 targets. He looks to have a career season in 2012, as the team plans to exploit him. Therefore, he should be seen as a No. 2 tight end with upside and a potential deep sleeper.
