The Buccaneers signed QB Dan Orlovsky to a two-year deal, the team announced Thursday.
Orlovsky was with the Colts last season, where he threw six touchdowns and four interceptions for an 82.4 passer rating. He started five games, including the Colts' only two wins.
Primarily a backup in his career, Orlovsky has been with the Lions and Texans. He started seven games for Detroit in 2008, throwing eight TDs and eight interceptions.
Josh Freeman's backup last year in Tampa, Josh Johnson, is an unrestricted free agent.
