The Seahawks released OG Robert Gallery and re-signed OL Paul McQuistan, the team announced Wednesday evening.
Gallery, the former No. 2 pick in the NFL draft by the Raiders, signed a three-year, $15 million deal with Seattle last offseason. He played through injuries last season, playing in only 12 games. Gallery has not played in 16 games in any season since 2008.
According to Brian McIntyre of Football Outsiders, Gallery's release clears $4.667 million in space on the Seahawks' cap. On Wednesday, Seattle did reportedly host OG Steve Hutchinson, who began his career with the Seahawks.
McQuistan played in all 16 games, with 10 starts, for Seattle last season. He has been with the Raiders, Jaguars and Browns in his career.
