The Giants have re-signed QB David Carr, keeping Eli Manning's backup in place. Terms and conditions of the deal were not announced.

Carr — a former No. 1 overall pick — is in his second stint with the Giants. He played for them from 2008-09, went to the 49ers in 2010, then returned in ’11 as Eli Manning's backup during their Super Bowl-championship season. He also has played for the Panthers and Texans.

Set to enter his 11th NFL season, Carr hasn't started a game since 2007 with Carolina. He was the Giants' No. 2 quarterback last season, but did not enter a game and recorded no stats.
