A day after signing WR Vincent Jackson to boost their offense, the Buccaneers added to their defense, signing CB Eric Wright to a five-year deal.

After starting his career with the Browns, Wright played for the Lions last season, starting all 16 games for the team. He made 74 tackles and recorded four interceptions for Detroit.

The 27-year old ranked No. 45 on PFW's list of the top 100 free agents. He may be replacing veteran Bucs CB Ronde Barber, who is a free agent and is near the end of his career.
