The Bucs strengthened their offensive line and weakened a division opponent on Wednesday, signing former Saints OG Carl Nicks to a five-year contract.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the two sides agreed to a five-year, $47.5 million contract. Of that, $31 million is guaranteed. The signing comes one day after the team inked WR Vincent Jackson to a five-year, $55.5 million contract. The Bucs also signed UFA CB Eric Wright Wednesday morning.

Nicks was a standout in four seasons with the Saints, starting 57 games and twice being named to the Pro Bowl (in 2010 and '11). He was a key factor in New Orleans allowing just 83 sacks during that time, the third-fewest in the league, despite an NFL-high 2,503 passing attempts. He is ranked sixth on PFW's ranking of the top 100 free agents.

The Buccaneers will host a 1 p.m. ET press conference Wednesday with Nicks, WR Vincent Jackson and CB Eric Wright at One Buccaneer Place in the team auditorium.
