The Redskins continue to add depth to their receiving corps, signing WR Josh Morgan on Tuesday. The news comes hours after free-agent WR Pierre Garcon had said he would sign with Washington.

Michael Lombardi of NFL Network reports that Morgan's deal is two years for $12 million. Of that, $7.5 million is guaranteed.

In four NFL seasons, all with the 49ers, Morgan has been a solid receiver, hauling in 131 receptions for 1,764 yards. He averaged 14.7 yards per catch for San Francisco last season before fracturing his right ankle in Week Five and going on injured reserve.

The Redskins are apparently close to a deal with WR Eddie Royal as well, giving them three new targets for expected first-round pick Robert Griffin III.

Fantasy spin

The Redskins continued rebuilding the WR position, first by signing new No. 1 starter Pierre Garcon and then adding Josh Morgan for depth. Morgan earned quite the payday, considering he's merely a supporting player. His contract is a two-year, $12 million deal with $7.5 million guaranteed.

Morgan only lasted five games as a 49er last season before going down with a broken leg. He ended with 15-220-1 on 20 targets, and some believe he was underutilized. Yet, until he shows consistency and wins a starting job, his fantasy value is minimal.
