The Bears made a move before the start of free agency Tuesday, agreeing to terms with CB Tim Jennings on a two-year deal.

Jennings, 28, started 28 games over the past two seasons since signing with the Bears before the 2010 campaign. He has made three interceptions in his 32 games as a Bear and has been credited with 17 passes defensed.

The seventh-year veteran spent the first four seasons of his career with the Colts, who drafted him in the second round in 2006.

The way we see it

Re-signing Jennings addresses one need of the several facing the Bears in free agency. He's a solid player they can count on and was likely kept at a very reasonable price. Head coach Lovie Smith likes his feisty style of play.

The biggest news of the day concerning the Bears could come later with reports linking them to free agents DE Mario Williams and WR Vincent Jackson.
