The 49ers have re-signed LB Tavares Gooden to a one-year contract.

Gooden's major impact for the NFC West champs came on special teams, as he recorded 12 special-teams tackles in 16 games for San Francisco.

"Tavares was an integral part of our success on special teams last year," 49ers GM Trent Baalke said in a statement. "He brought an energy to our locker room that was evident on the field as well. We are pleased to have him back with us for another season, and look forward to his continued growth as a player."
