The Saints agreed to a one-year deal with backup QB Chaes Daniel, the team confirmed Monday.
The contract is a one-year, $1 million deal with a $300,000 signing bonus, according to Adam Caplan of The Sideline View.
Daniel was scheduled to become a restricted free agent on Tuesday. Daniel, 25, has attempted eight regular-season passes in his career. He will be entering his fourth NFL season.
"Ever since Chase joined our team in 2009, he's continued to work hard and progress on the practice field, in the meeting room and in the weight room," said GM Mickey Loomis on the team's website. "His work ethic has served him well as he's continued his development for us at the quarterback position."
