Two months after his father and brother left Indianapolis, Dennis Polian has left the Colts to join the coaching staff of the rival Titans. Fox Sports' Alex Marvez first reported the story on Monday.
Polian had been the Colts' director of football administration, working under his father Bill (the team's president) and brother Chris (the general manager) in the Indianapolis front office. However, after both family members were fired in January, Dennis Polian stayed on, working under new GM Ryan Grigson.
According to Marvez, Grigson granted Polian permission to interview with the Titans after initially denying the opportunity. However, the GM then fired Polian as he was meeting with members of the Tennessee organization.
Polian's responsibilities with the Titans will include assisting head coach Mike Munchak, and being involved in coaching staff decisions, personnel evaluation and coordinating the Titans' practice schedule and football calendar.
