The Jets have locked up their top free agent, re-signing NT Sione Pouha to a three-year contract a day before free agency begins. Financial terms have not been released.

The 33-year-old nose tackle has been an anchor in the middle of the Jets' line in recent years, playing in all 16 games in each of the past five seasons. In 2011, he had a career-high 58 tackles, including five tackles for loss, two fumbles recovered and a sack.

Pouha had been ranked by PFW as the 28th-best free agent available and was set to be an unrestricted free agent.
