In each of the last two drafts, the Bengals have selected a Georgia player who has gone on to make the Pro Bowl. The exploits of WR A.J. Green, the No. 4 overall pick in 2011, have been well-chronicled, but DT Geno Atkins, a 2010 fourth-round pick, also emerged as a star last season, and both Atkins and Green started for the AFC squad in Hawaii this January. Green and Atkins are among four UGA products currently on the roster, with DE Robert Geathers and OG Clint Boling the others. (A fifth former Bulldog, Dennis Roland, is slated to be an unrestricted free agent.).

"They've been very, very productive," Georgia head coach Mark Richt said of the ex-Bulldogs now in Cincinnati. "I think once you get a little string of that, you've got an idea of what you're getting as far as some of the intangibles that you can't measure by running and jumping and watching film."

The 6-1, 300-pound Atkins notched 47 tackles and 7½ sacks in 2011 for the Bengals and added a sack in the Bengals' postseason loss to Houston.

"His size maybe is a little deceiving as to how powerful he is and how quick he is and how productive he can become," Richt told PFW Thursday. "So he's not doing a whole lot different than he did with us. He showed up and just started making plays for us and dominating guys that were a little bigger than him."
