The Panthers signed PK Justin Medlock on Wednesday and waived PK Adi Kunalic.

Medlock, a 2007 draft pick of the Chiefs, made 49-of-55 field-goal attempts for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the CFL last season.

A first-team All-American at UCLA, Medlock was a fifth-round pick in ’07 but was waived by the Chiefs. Medlock will provide competition to veteran PK Olindo Mare.

"We think he's a good person to bring in to training camp to provide competition," Panthers GM Marty Hurney said. "He's a young, talented kicker. Whenever you have an opportunity to sign young, talented players, you sign them and let them come in and compete."
