Former Vikings and Patriots standout WR Randy Moss apparently "lit it up" Tuesday when he worked out for the Saints. Fox Sports' Jay Glazer said that sources informed him that Moss ran about 45 routes and "looked like the old Randy."
The old Randy was one of the greatest deep threats in NFL history with 954 receptions, 14,858 receiving yards and 153 touchdown receptions in his career. He is only 46 receptions away from 1,000 and only 142 receiving yards away from 15,000. He is tied with Terrell Owens for second all-time in touchdown receptions. Moss did not play in 2011 but announced in February that he was making his return to the gridiron.
In 2010, Moss had only 393 receiving yards and five touchdowns in stints with New England, Minnesota and Tennessee.
"From what I gather all parties were pretty floored by his workout," Glazer wrote on Twitter. "Probably didn't expect him to perform the way he did."
One source told Pro Football Talk that the workout "couldn't have gone better."
The way we see it
Saints WRs Marques Colston and Robert Meachem are set to be unrestricted free agents. New Orleans might be open to the idea of adding a new wide receiver, particularly one with Moss' credentials.
