The Falcons agreed to terms with FS Thomas DeCoud on Tuesday. DeCoud was scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

ESPN's Adam Schefter first reported the agreement.

PFW's 75th-ranked free agent, DeCoud is coming off a career year. He had 86 tackles and four interceptions — both career highs.

DeCoud has been the team's starter the last three seasons, playing in every game since 2009 with 47 starts.

The way we see it

By re-signing DeCoud, the Falcons take another safety off the market. Dashon Goldson, Tyvon Branch and Michael Griffin all received the franchise tag from their respective teams. DeCoud has been a consistent starter on Atlanta's back end for three seasons now. After the team franchised CB Brent Grimes, Atlanta's top free agents still left unsigned are MLB Curtis Lofton, DE John Abraham and WR Harry Douglas.
