The Chiefs released veteran LB Demorrio Williams, the team announced on Tuesday.
Williams joined Kansas City as a free agent in 2008, signing a five-year, $16 million deal. In 2009, Williams played in all 16 games with 13 starts, recording 117 tackles and six passes defensed. He has not started since '09, playing a backup role to WLB Derrick Johnson.
Johnson played in 12 games in 2011, recording 18 tackles. He had 33 special-teams tackles in his four seasons with Kansas City.
Williams started his career with the Falcons in 2004. He had played in every game from 2004-10.
