The Browns have reportedly placed the franchise tag on PK Phil Dawson for the second year in a row.

A source told Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer that Dawson received the tag on Friday. He will make an estimated $3.8 million in 2012. Last year, his franchise tag was worth $3.25 million.

Dawson has spent his entire career — 13 seasons — with the Browns. Last season, he converted 24-of-29 field-goal attempts and all 20 extra point tries. He has a career field-goal percentage of 83.1 percent.

Last season, Dawson was tied for the league lead with seven field goals of 50 yards or more.
