The Giants re-signed WR Domenik Hixon, who has had two knee surgeries in two years, on Friday

Hixon was set to become an unrestricted free agent on March 13. He missed all but two games the last two seasons for torn ACLs.

"It's one of those things, they gave me an opportunity when I got released from Denver (in 2007)," Hixon said, according to the team's website. "And then these past two years with knee injuries they stuck with me. They could have cut me and let me be on my way and be done with me. But they didn't do that. They treated me the same and I really appreciate that. I know a lot of times in the NFL loyalty isn't that big. But in this situation I really felt like I wanted to be here. They helped me out time and time again. I wanted to stay here and repay that."

In two games in '11, Hixon had four catches for 50 yards and a 22-yard touchdown. He played in 14 games in '09 and all 16 in '08, which was his most productive season. Hixon had 43 catches for 596 yards and two touchdowns that season.

Hixon is also a key special-teams contributor for the Giants, on returns and in coverage. He has both a punt-return and kickoff-return touchdown.
