Former Broncos CB Perrish Cox was found not guilty on two counts of sexual assault of a victim who was deemed unable to assess her condition. The jury read its verdict in Douglas County District Court on Friday, 30 miles south of Denver.

Cox was arrested in December, 2010, during his rookie season, and pleaded not guilty. The accuser told investigators that Cox sexually assaulted her after she passed out on an air mattress in his apartment.

The jury deliberated for four hours on Thursday and just over two hours on Friday, according to The Denver Post.

The Broncos cut Cox in September, just before the 2011 season. As a rookie, he played in 15 games with nine starts, recording 58 tackles, 14 passes defensed, one interception and two forced fumbles.

If convicted, Cox would have faced two years to life in prison. Cox could face a suspension from commissioner Roger Goodell for violating the league's personal-conduct policy. He is currently not on an NFL roster.
