Browns GM Tom Heckert had heart surgery to clear blockage two weeks ago, team president Mike Holmgren announced on Monday. Heckert is recovering well.

Heckert was absent from the NFL Scouting Combine, where the Browns met with several draft prospects, including QB Robert Griffin III and RB Trent Richardson. Holmgren said the GM will be back in the office on Tuesday.

The Browns have two first-round picks (fourth and 22nd overall) and many believe they will be a team to consider drafting Griffin.

Heckert is in his third season with the Browns. He was the Eagles' GM from 2006-09.
