After a productive season with the Jets, DE-OLB Aaron Maybin is being rewarded with a new contract.

According to Jenny Vrentas of the Star-Ledger, a Jets source said that the team will place a first-round restricted tender on Maybin. That is expected to be around $1.3 million. Last season, Maybin's salary was $525,000 on a one-year deal. The report says the team doesn't plan on working out a long-term contract this offseason.

Maybin had six sacks in 13 games in 2011, his first season with the Jets. The former first-round pick of the Bills had no sacks during his first two NFL seasons, both with Buffalo. He was cut by the Bills during the preseason before the Jets picked him up.
