First-round draft order set as Dolphins, Chiefs win coin flips

Two coin flips this morning at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis determined the official order of the first round of the 2012 NFL draft.

The Dolphins won their coin toss with the Panthers and will now select eighth overall, with the Panthers ninth. The Chiefs also won their coin flip with the Seahawks, meaning that Kansas City now picks 11th and Seattle selects 12th.

The NFL draft will kick off in prime time for the third consecutive year, with the first round beginning at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, April 26.

The second and third rounds will be on Friday, April 27 at 7 p.m. ET and Rounds 4-7 will be held on Saturday, April 28 at noon ET. 

The Panthers and Dolphins both had 6-10 records and an identical strength-of-schedule, and the Seahawks and Chiefs, who both finished 7-9, did the same.
