A report from the New York Daily News says that OLT D'Brickashaw Ferguson has agreed to restructure his deal with the Jets to provide more cap space for the team this offseason.

Ferguson, a three-time Pro Bowler, signed an eight-year, $73.6 million deal with the team prior to the 2010 season. According to the paper, the Jets turned $9 million of Ferguson's $9.985 million base salary for 2012 into a signing bonus.

That means that the cap value of the converted signing bonus will be spread out over the six years of Ferguson's contract that still remain. And that will give the Jets an additional $7.5 million of cap relief this coming season.
