The Patriots have released OG Rich Ohrnberger and DL Mike Wright, the team announced Wednesday.
Ohrnberger missed all of the team's 2011 AFC championship season because of a head injury. The former fourth-round pick has played in just five career games in three seasons.
Wright played in the season opener of 2011 against the Dolphins, but then he, too, was placed on I.R. Concussions have been a serious issue for the lineman in recent years, as he missed the end of the 2010 season as well. In seven years with the team, Wright played in 81 games and had 133 tackles.
