The Falcons promoted director of college scouting David Caldwell to director of player personnel on Monday. Caldwell will replace Les Snead, who will be the Rams' general manager.

Caldwell just finished his fourth season as the Falcons' director of college scouting. He has spent 15 years in the NFL, 10 with the Colts.

The team also promoted DeJuan Polk to director of pro scouting. Polk had been a pro scout for the last four years and has spent six seasons in the Falcons' scouting department.

"We are pleased to announce the promotions of Dave and DeJuan," said general manager Thomas Dimitroff. "Both Dave and DeJuan have been vital to our personnel department and have been tremendous assets to our organization. They have been essential in helping construct our team over the last four seasons. Dave has provided great leadership to our college scouting department and has been instrumental in our draft process. DeJuan started in college scouting, but has been a reliable member of our pro scouting department the last four years and has played a significant role in our evaluation of players."

Snead has yet to be announced as the Rams' general manager, but is expected to be officially named soon.
