The Bears hired Tim Holt to be their offensive-line coach Wednesday.

The position became available after Mike Tice was promoted to offensive coordinator, but Tice still is expected to be heavily involved in working with O-linemen and designing protections next season.

Holt has 17 seasons of coaching experience, 14 of which came at the college level. He most recently served as the Buccaneers' assistant O-line coach in 2011. He was an offensive assistant for the Bucs in ’10 and was a coaching intern with the team in ’09.

He began his coaching career at his alma mater, Southern Connecticut State, in 1995 and went on to serve as an assistant at Lehigh, Cornell, American International and Stonehill College during his time in the college ranks.
