The Patriots signed seven players to futures contracts on Tuesday, including WR Tiquan Underwood, who was cut the day before the Super Bowl.
In addition to Underwood, the Pats signed LB Markell Carter, WR Britt Davis, OL Matt Kopa, DE Aaron Lavarias, LB Mike Rivera and DB Ross Ventrone.
Underwood played in five games this season and caught five passes for 30 yards. He was cut in favor of DL Alex Silvestro, who was active but did not play in the Super Bowl loss to the Giants. Underwood showed on his Twitter, though, his support for the Patriots.
Ventrone played in eight games this season and famously bounced back and forth between the practice squad and active roster all season long.
The other notable players on this list are Kopa and Carter. Kopa spent time on the Dolphins' active roster in 2010 but did not play. Carter was the Patriots' sixth-round pick in the 2011 draft. He spent his entire rookie season on the practice squad and could have a chance to make the roster next season. He is a developmental pass rusher.
