INDIANAPOLIS — Giants TE Travis Beckum suffered a torn right ACL during Super Bowl XLVI. He is out for the rest of the game.
The injury occurred in the second quarter. Beckum, the third-string tight end for New York, was helped off the field by trainers after being hit in the knee by a Patriots player. He was then carted to the locker room and doctors immediately diagnosed the injury as a torn ACL.
It is expected he will undergo surgery in the coming days.
Beckum had just five completions in the regular season, but caught seven passes in the Giants' three playoff games prior to the Super Bowl.
