Seahawks still somewhat high on Rice-Williams duo

After spending a bundle on free-agent WR Sidney Rice, the Seahawks were banking on a potent 1-2 punch with Rice as the acrobatic, big-play flanker and Mike Williams, who had a breakthrough campaign the previous season, as a dangerous, TE-sized complement at split end. But after Rice and Williams missed a combined 11 games because of injuries in 2011, and Williams regressed significantly when healthy enough to play, we hear the vision of a consistently dynamic duo has been blurred somewhat. "They still have huge expectations for Rice, because he's so young (25), and they think they can make his frame a lot stronger and more durable with a full offseason to get into shape," one team source said. "As for Williams, he was just never the same guy (as in '10). He really appears dedicated to getting back on track, but it looks like he is going to have to prove himself all over again."
