Former Vikings TE Joe Senser and his wife are back on trial, according to The Associated Press, in a wrongful death lawsuit filed against the couple by the family of hit-and-run victim Anousone Phanthavong.

His wife, Amy, is charged with striking Phanthavong on a Minnesota interstate ramp and fleeing the scene. Defense attorney Eric Nelson said that Senser did not realize she had struck someone that night.

Amy Senser is scheduled to stand trial April 23 on two counts of criminal vehicle homicide. The civil case against Joe and Amy Senser was delayed for four months because the judge ordered that neither side gather evidence while the criminal investigation occurred.

In four years with the Vikings, Joe Senser compiled 1,822 receiving yards, more than half of which came during the 1981 season, in which he earned Pro Bowl honors with his 1,004 receiving yards and eight touchdown receptions.
