Mike Sullivan is changing sides. After spending 11 years as the managing director of Octagon Worldwide, a top sports representation and marketing firm, Sullivan will now negotiate player contracts as the Broncos' director of football administration, the club announced Friday.

In addition, Sullivan manage the Broncos' football budget as well as the salary cap. He will also ensure the club complies with the CBA.

"With such an extensive background in NFL contract negotiations, Mike brings comprehensive experience and a proven track record of success in that very important area to the Broncos," Broncos executive vice president of football operations John Elway said. "His in-depth knowledge of contract structure and the salary cap combined with his strong negotiation skills and far-reaching industry ties will be a great asset to our team."

Sullivan is credited with the creation of the guaranteed salary/option bonus structure, used frequently in major NFL deals. In addition to being a NFLPA Certified Contract Advisor, Sullivan is also an attorney and a Certified Public Accountant. He played college football at Oregon.
