A series of former Rams coaches have floated right down the Mississippi River and made their way to the Superdome.

Approximately two weeks after dismissed Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo began work as the new defensive coordinator in New Orleans, his old defensive coordinator, Ken Flajole, followed along, joining the Saints as their secondary coach, according to James Varney of The (New Orleans) Times-Picayune.

Flajole previously spent time with the Panthers, Seahawks and the Packers, and all told, he has 14 years of NFL coaching experience. During his six years coaching linebackers in Carolina, which included the Panthers' Super Bowl berth against the Patriots, he worked with linebackers like Will Witherspoon and Jon Beason. In New Orleans, he will work with a secondary that surrendered 259.8 passing yards per game in 2011, which ranked 30th in the NFL.
