Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez indicated Thursday that the 2012 season will be his last. He made the remark, which echoed similar statements, as he noted, in an ESPN chat on Facebook.

The future Hall of Famer signed a one-year, $6.9 million extension with Atlanta last month.

Gonzalez, who will turn 36 at the end of this month, had 80 catches for 875 yards and seven touchdowns in 16 starts. Gonzalez has not missed a game since the 2006 season, and has missed only two in his entire career.

Gonzalez is the all-time leader among tight ends in receptions (1,149), receiving yards (13,338) and touchdowns (95).
