Amid rumors that the Colts' hiring of Bruce Arians as their offensive coordinator meant the end of Clyde Christensen's tenure in Indianapolis, a league source told NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora that the organization planned on keeping Christensen.

Christensen, the Colts' offensive coordinator for the past two seasons, will stay on as the team's quarterbacks coach, according to La Canfora, and as a result, will likely work with Peyton Manning and/or Andrew Luck next season.

Christensen's collegiate and professional career has been focused nearly entirely on the aerial attack, but this will mark the first time he has coached quarterbacks since he served in that capacity with Tampa Bay for two seasons at the turn of the millennium. Since then, he was the Buccaneers' offensive coordinator for one season, before coaching the Colts' wide receivers from 2002 to 2008. As the WR coach in Indianapolis, Christensen coached standout WRs Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison and is thought by many to be one of the last links between QB Peyton Manning and the current Colts coaching staff.

According to La Canfora, the Colts considered moving Christensen back to his old role as WR coach before ultimately deciding to move him to QB coach. He would be the only assistant rehired from Jim Caldwell's staff by new head coach Chuck Pagano.
