Bengals WR Jerome Simpson pleaded not guilty to marijuana trafficking on Monday in Kenton County Circuit Court in Covington, Ky.
Simpson was indicted earlier this month on one count of marijuana trafficking in excess of eight ounces by a grand jury. Agents tracked a shipment to his home in northern Kentucky in September and it contained 2½ pounds of marijuana. Authorities found six more pounds of marijuana, smoking pipes and scales after searching his home. Simpson has been under investigation since the incident.
Simpson had 53 catches for 758 yards and four touchdowns in 2011. He is set to be a free agent.
