The Jets have offered Karl Dunbar a position as their defensive line coach, according to a New York Daily News report.

Dunbar served as the Vikings' DL coach for six seasons before being fired earlier this month. He came to the Jets' facility two weeks ago to interview, according to the report.

If Dunbar accepts the job, current Jets DL coach Mark Carrier may be reassigned to a different position, according to the report.

Minnesota fell to 21st in total defense this season and 11th in rushing defense after having ranked in the top two in rushing yardage allowed from 2006 through '09.

Jets head coach Rex Ryan has made wholesale changes to his offensive staff, hiring Tony Sparano as offensive coordinator, Dave DeGuglielmo as OL coach and Sanjay Lal as WR coach.
