So much for Bruce Arians' "retirement" plans. According to a report by NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora, the Colts will hire Arians as their offensive coordinator.

The Steelers announced Jan. 20 that Arians was "retiring" as their offensive coordinator, but Arians later told the York (Pa.) Daily Record that the team had told him that his contract wouldn't be renewed.

Arians will apparently replace Clyde Christensen, whose fate with the team hasn't been revealed.

The Colts hired former Ravens defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano as their head coach on Wednesday. Pagano is expected to hire his own staff.

The way we see it

The hiring of Arians likely means that former offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen will be leaving the Colts, and that is another sign that Peyton Manning won't return to Indianapolis for the 2012 season.
