A rough week just got rougher for the San Francisco 49ers.

Less than a week after they saw their season come to an end against the Giants, star LB Aldon Smith was booked in a Miami-Dade County jail for driving under the influence in Miami Beach. Jail records show that Smith was booked on Saturday morning and was held on $1,000 bond. A police spokesman said he had no information immediately available about the arrest, according to ESPN.

Smith is coming off a fine rookie campaign, in which he posted 14 sacks for 104½ yards, 27 quarterback hits and 13 tackles for loss. He was named the Pro Football Weekly/Professional Football Writers of America Defensive Rookie of the Year. His sack total established a new franchise record for a rookie linebacker and led all NFL rookies. He also led his team in sacks and quarterback hits and tied for the lead in tackles for loss. He registered one-third of the 49ers' team sacks in 2011.

When last seen on a football field, Smith was sacking Giants QB Eli Manning, one of his two sacks during San Francisco's playoff run.
