The Dolphins are set to hire Mike Sherman and Kevin Coyle as their offensive and defensive coordinators, respectively.

Sherman, a former head coach of the Packers and most recently the head coach at Texas A&M, has a long history with current Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin. The two worked together in Green Bay (Sherman gave Philbin his first job in the NFL), and Sherman was actually Philbin's English teacher at Worcester Academy in Massachusetts.

In six seasons as Packers head coach, Sherman went 57-39 and made the playoffs four times. He had been a candidate for the Buccaneers' head-coaching job before Greg Schiano was hired on Thursday.

Coyle has spent the past nine seasons as the Bengals' defensive backs coach.
